To gain a deeper understanding of revolutionary history, promote the great spirit of Long March, and strengthen national recognition and identity of youth from Hong Kong and Macau, the Student Affairs Office of MUST dispatched 13 students to join a five-day Retracing the Long March, hosted by the All-China Youth Federation and Fujian Youth Federation. Students from Hong Kong and Macau followed the footprints of the Long March, reflected upon the eventful years, and underwent a profound ideological baptism and emotional elevation.
Participants paid visits to the Chairman Mao Memorial Garden, the Former Site of the Gutian Congress, Zhongfu Village, and Longyan University. During the visits, students gained a deeper understanding of “Building the Party ideologically and the military politically,” experienced intangible cultural heritage and embraced the charm of fine traditional Chinese culture, and fostered mutual understanding and built consensus through intellectual exchanges.
Though the five-day activity was brief, each participant was deeply moved, stating that this was not just a patriotic, cultural journey, but also a spiritual experience and personal growth. As youths of the new era, it’s our duty to remember history, cherish the present, turn the Long March spirit into motivation for hard work, and strive to fulfill responsibilities and missions on the journey toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
