The first MUST KNOW Orientation Session of the new academic year was successfully held on August 26 at Block D Conference Hall, marking the start of a series of orientation activities held by the Student Affairs Office. The orientation attracted Pre-University and undergraduate students.

The session opened with the University Anthem, led by the Art Troupe. Next, Student Affairs Office facilitators outlined the “10 MUST KNOWs” and key reminders for freshmen, covering the functions of the Student Affairs Office, the awards system, university regulations, the mentorship program, visa and insurance matters, dormitory arrangements, psychological health and counseling services, and vibrant student associations. These sessions helped students anticipate their university life with greater clarity.

It also featured a special session on moral and integrity education, delivered by Assistant Professor Yuan Kaihao from University International College. The session covered four key modules: understanding laws and university regulations, upholding academic integrity, eliminating disciplinary infractions, and making sound moral choices. Through analysis of real cases, he illustrated the severe consequences of misconduct, emphasizing that serious violations not only breach university regulations but also constitute offenses under Macao law, potentially leading to expulsion or even criminal liability. Finally, he led all freshmen present in taking an integrity pledge, encouraging them to internalize the spirit of the university motto and translate it into their actions, jointly fostering a campus environment characterized by integrity and positive values.

As the University Anthem, led by the Art Troupe, echoed through the venue, the event drew to a close. The first orientation session was a success. The remaining sessions will be held on 28 and 31 August, respectively. All new students are warmly welcome to attend.
