2026/09/04

Hosted by Sands China Ltd. and co-organized by Macau Youth Development Service Centre, the Sands Cares in the Greater Bay Area: The Macao and Hengqin Study Tour for Youth 2026 concluded successfully on September 2, 2026. The Student Affairs Office of MUST selected three students, Shi Guofan (Social Service Team), Ma Tiantian, and Zhang Yuqing (FC), to participate in this program, joining the Sands Cares Ambassador and fellow students from local universities. During the tour of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the participants gained an in-depth understanding of innovative practices in social service, community governance, and public amenities through field visits, professional exchanges, and community service.

The study tour visited the Planning Exhibition Hall and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Experience Hall to gain insights into the zone’s industrial layout and the integration blueprint. They then engaged in discussions with social service representatives and professionals regarding community service models and livelihood integration. In the afternoon, students volunteered at the Elderly Service Center of “Macau New Neighborhood,” demonstrating tech-enabled elderly care and community support by assisting with floral crafts, teaching smartphone skills, and educating elderly seniors on anti-telecom fraud.

The study program provided students with a more comprehensive understanding of Hengqin-Macao Integration and the promising prospects of social services. Moving forward, they will continue their involvement in social services while encouraging their peers to pay attention to the development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area and actively integrate into the country’s overall development.
