To further advance youth exchanges in science and innovation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance and to cultivate innovative talent, the Student Affairs Office of the Macau University of Science and Technology selected and dispatched a delegation to Guangzhou on June 15. The student delegation comprised WANG Chaoran, DENG Zhiwen, and MA Rong from the Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE), QIAN Chen from the School of Business (MSB), WANG Jinze and YANG Li from the Faculty of Chinese Medicine (FC), LIU Ziming from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM), and RAO Xuaner from the Faculty of Humanities and Arts (FA). This delegation participated in a four-day study tour themed "Decade of Dreaming in the Bay Area, Youth Creating the Future Together," organized by SUN YAT-SEN University to mark the 10th anniversary of the Summer Academy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance. The event brought together over 40 young students from seven higher education institutions across Hong Kong and Macao for collaborative learning and academic exchange.

The academic itinerary provided comprehensive exposure to various advanced industrial and cultural venues institutions, complemented by a specialized seminar on artificial intelligence. The first stop destination was the National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou, which facilitated a close examination of the “Tianhe-2” supercomputer cabinet cluster. This experience offered profound insights into China’s major scientific breakthroughs and industrial deployment in the field of high-performance computing. The delegation subsequently visited the Museum of Dr. Sun YAT-SEN, exploring historical archives and school relics that demonstrated the profound historical commitment to national revitalization through higher education.

At the Baiyun Electric AI Factory in the Baiyun District, firsthand observation of fully automated intelligent production lines and digitized management systems illustrated the ongoing industrial transformation driven by manufacturing digitization. This was followed by a site visit to the product exhibition hall of Jiechuang Intelligent in the Huangpu District, where institutional representatives demonstrated diverse smart security innovations, including electromagnetic net catchers. Under professional guidance, testing these devices highlighted their significant technological advantages in precise positioning and extensive spatial coverage.

The latter segment of the study tour featured a specialized lecture titled “AI Skills for Everyone”delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Zhao Baoquan from the School of Artificial Intelligence at Sun YAT-SEN University. Focus areas included prompt engineering, AI-driven creative design, and the fundamentals of AI agents. Dr. Zhao provided systematic guidance on constructing personalized AI agents using large language models, including Claude and DeepSeek. Through empirical practice, the session clarified the underlying logic of agent development and equipped participants with highly practical AI methodologies.
