Nearly 100 MUST Students Participate in 18 Summer Exchange & Study Programmes

2026/08/26

In response to national education policies, to promote youth exchanges, carry forward the fine traditional Chinese culture, and enhance the development of science and technology innovation talents, the Student Affairs Office of MUST selected nearly 100 students to take part in 18 summer exchange and study programmes from May to August, 2026. These programmes covered themes such as cutting-edge technologies, national education, military training, intangible cultural heritage preservation, and Greater Bay Area integration. Through these experiences, students broadened their horizons and enriched their learning experiences beyond the classroom.

In the realm of technological innovation, students gained hands-on experience at top universities and frontier industrial hubs, diving deep into topics such as artificial intelligence, the low-altitude economy, drone technology, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, and supercomputing. From classroom lectures on cutting-edge theories to hands-on field visits, students witnessed first-hand the remarkable progress and strength of the nation in technological innovation and industrial upgrading, further igniting their enthusiasm for a career in science and technology.

On the cultural heritage front, students explored the richness of traditional Chinese culture through a three-part experience: thematic lectures, in-depth museum visits, and hands-on heritage craft workshops. By engaging both their hands and their hearts, students gained a genuine appreciation for the unique artistry and craftsmanship passed down through intangible cultural heritage.

Another key goal is to strengthen patriotic education and deepen understanding of the nation. Students visited revolutionary base areas and historical memorial sites to revisit revolutionary history, while some took part in military experience summer camps with rigorous discipline training. Through these experiences, students internalized the spirit of patriotism, built resilience and perseverance, and developed a stronger sense of teamwork and national defense.

The Student Affairs Office specifically arranged facilitators to accompany students on these programmes, encouraging them to observe with purpose and engage in thoughtful discussions – helping them gain deeper insights and grow through hands-on experience.
