MUST Social Service Team and Kendo Club of Students' Union Actively Respond to the "Oasis Action 2026" Campaign

2026/03/18

From March 12 to 13, 2026, the Social Service Team under the Student Affairs Office of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), together with the Kendo Club of Students' Union, jointly organized a fundraising booth activity for the “2026 Huaxia Oasis Education Support Action” in the lobbies of Block N and Block B. The two-day event concluded successfully on March 13, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the university's faculty and students. All funds raised during this event will be used to support the academic development of children in impoverished areas of mainland China, contributing to the promotion of educational equity in our motherland.

In addition to continuing the sale of featured merchandise from past events, this fundraising booth activity specially added a game zone and a handicraft zone, cleverly integrating the event's spirit of “gathering love and helping one another” into fun interactions and creative crafts. A student from the Social Service Team, surnamed Wang, shared: “Using entertaining games as a bridge, the activity deeply integrates ecological and environmental science popularization with charitable education support. This allows students to contribute with love and find joy through relaxed interactions, while further understanding the significance of oasis protection and the power of charitable support.”

Thanks to the meticulous preparation and active promotion by the members of the Social Service Team and the students of the Kendo Club, the atmosphere on site was lively, attracting many students to stop by and show their support during the event. A student surnamed Hou, who was responsible for the sales section, shared: “This duty experience made me truly feel the warm power that comes from people joining together. The SST students devoted their full effort and actively called on everyone to contribute their love to the ecological development and educational advancement of the Northwest region. The students on site also responded enthusiastically and participated eagerly, supporting this charity sale in their own ways.” After the conclusion of this event, all funds raised will be donated to the Chinese Educators Association of Macau to support the relevant goals of the education support initiative.

As the event drew to a close, the students expressed: “This activity not only successfully achieved its goals of science popularization and fundraising, but also deeply embedded the concept of public welfare in our hearts, allowing us to truly feel the power of collective kindness—it was a rewarding and deeply meaningful experience.' 'May this pure goodwill from our campus cross mountains and seas, bringing care and hope to the children of the Northwest, and may this gentle yet steadfast strength continue to spread and thrive in our society.”

The “Oasis Action” was jointly initiated in 2006 by the China Green Foundation, the Office of the National Greening Committee, the Chinese Educators Association of Macau, the Macau Public Servants Education Association, and several universities in Macau. Over the years, it has been continuously advanced with the support of various sectors of society, as well as teachers and students. Looking ahead, the team members will continue to uphold the philosophy of “serving society and being eager to help others,” building on their participation in related public welfare activities, and maintaining a focus on educational equity and ecological protection, contributing further to building a community of mutual assistance and harmonious coexistence."
