On March 24th 2026, the “Gratitude for Dedication ‧ Go Further with Excellence” Commendation Ceremony of the 15th NG, the 12th NGD and the 9th NSOG Volunteers & Student Association Excellent Award Ceremony was hosted by the Student Affairs Office at N101 Auditorium, MUST. It aimed to recognize volunteers for their dedicated service to the National Games, and to honor outstanding student associations for their contributions to campus development, highlighting the sense of responsibility and youthful spirit of MUST students. Ms. Cen Jiayi, Director of the Department of Education and Youth Affairs at the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Dr. Chan Iok Wai, Acting Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Government of the Macao SAR; Mr. Chan Wai Bun, Branch Manager of the MUST Sub-branch of Bank of China Macau Branch; Dr. Kwong Ying Wa, Vice President of MUST; Prof. Zhu Yizhun, Vice President & Dean of the School of Pharmacy; Prof. Aliana Leong, Associate Vice President & Dean of the School of Liberal Arts; Prof. Fang Quan, Associate Vice President & Dean of the Faculty of Law; Prof. Sun Zhiguang, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine; Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management; Dr. Wong Ka Weng, Head of Student Affairs Office; Ms. Tam Kit Leng, Duty Manger of Student Affairs Office, attended the Ceremony and shared this glorious moment together.

Before the Ceremony officially commenced, a special segment was added. Dr. Chiang Siu Ling, Associate Dean and Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, accompanied alumnus Prof. Liu Pingyun, Lead Designer of the emblem and mascot design team for the 15th NG, the 12th NGD and the 9th NSOG, together with the two Chinese White Dolphins “Xiyangyang” and “Lerongrong”, which are affectionately nicknamed as the “Greater Bay Chicken”, to meet and take photos with all faculty and students on site. The scene was lively and the atmosphere warm and harmonious.

The Ceremony commenced with a video of volunteers’ moments, highlighting their commitment and enthusiasm. Dr. Kwong Ying Wa, the Vice President, extended warm congratulations to all volunteer faculty, staff and students, and expressed sincere gratitude to Bank of China Macau Branch, the Education and Youth Department Bureau, and friends from all sectors of the community for their long-standing support. During the 15th NG, the 12th NGD and the 9th NSOG, MUST dispatched nearly 600 faculty and students to participate in volunteer service. Working in various roles including competition support and venue guidance, they ensured the smooth and orderly running of the events with professional dedication, and embodied the spirit of the University. In addition, Dr. Kwong Ying Wa recognized the achievements of the “Student Association Excellent Award Program” since its launch in 2019. Student Associations have organized numerous innovative activities in academic, cultural, sports, and social service fields, becoming an important force for campus culture development. At the end of his speech, he encouraged students to transform the gains from volunteer service and the experiences in organizing activities into motivation for growth, maintain their passion and aspirations, and shine brightly on the track of life.

The University presented Certificates of Appreciation to all volunteers, in recognition of their enthusiastic dedication and the honor they brought to the University. Meanwhile, the University presented commemorative gifts to the student volunteer mentors, as well as appreciation awards to faculty and staff representatives who made positive contributions to the volunteer service during the games: Yu Lili, Associate Professor, Liu Wenying, Assistant Professor, Ms. Tam Kit Leng, Duty Manager of Student Affairs Office, and Ms. Ho Un Han, Facilitator from the Student Affairs Office.

A highlight reel of student associations was played during the ceremony, showcasing touching moments of diverse extracurricular activities and community engagement over the past year. The Student Association Excellent Award Program, organized by the Student Affairs Office, selects recipients for the "Top Ten Outstanding Student Associations" and "Rising Star" awards each year. Eligibility is based on both the application materials submitted by association leaders and the annual performance of each group during the 2502 and 2509 semesters. Following the evaluation, the “Top Ten Outstanding Student Associations” awards went to: School of Business Students’ Association, Dance Association, Volunteer Association, The Music Society, Chinese Ancient Civilization Society, Badminton Club, University International College Students’ Association, Drama Club, Football Club, and the Students’ Union. The “Rising Star” awards were presented to Tennis Club, Chance Club, Board Game Club, Table Tennis Club and The Nutrition Society. In addition, Mr. Leng Fei Ieong, Facilitator from the Student Affairs Office, won the “Facilitator of the Year” for three consecutive years.

On behalf of award-winning student associations, Sun Xiaoke, Chairperson of Students’ Union, expressed gratitude to faculty members and all sectors of society for their long-standing support for student activities in her speech. She emphasized that student leaders should possess integrity, impartiality, inclusiveness, cohesion and innovative spirit. Looking back on student association activities in 2025, she noted that 35 student associations had enriched campus life by organizing events across academics, cultural activities, sports, social services and technology. These activities not only provided students with platforms to showcase themselves and develop practical skills, but also embodied the diversity and vitality of campus association culture. She encouraged the students to write a remarkable chapter for their generation through down-to-earth efforts in the days ahead.

As the Ceremony drew to a close, three singers: Zheng Huandu, Zhong Junquan, and Cheng Huailei, from the Music Society of Students’ Union honored to the dedicated contributions of volunteers and student associations through their performance. Finally, the event concluded with closing remarks from emcees Hu Jialu (representative of the volunteers) and Shi Jiaxin (representative of the Character Voice Club).

The Ceremony was co-organized by the Students’ Union and supported by the Bank of China Macau Branch. This Commendation and Award Ceremony not only recognized the efforts of faculty and students, but also celebrated the continuation and promotion of volunteerism and student association culture. Looking ahead, the University will continue to develop diverse practical platforms to provide students with broader opportunities for growth, allowing a positive and healthy campus culture to flourish.
