To celebrate the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, The Dormitory and Life Experience Team of Student Affair Office of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) hosted the “Full-Moon Mid-Autumn Gathering” on 6th October, 2025 in the On-Campus Dormitory, Taipa Off-Campus Dormitory, and the Macau Off-Campus Dormitory. Residents came together for a warm, unforgettable time packed with popular activities: “Mooncake DIY Workshop”, “Paper-Lantern Craft Workshop” and “Riddle-Guessing Game”. Laughter echoed everywhere as the festive spirit filled every hall.


Dormitory Residents Enjoy Mooncakes for the Festival
Before the festival, dormitory residents decorate their dormitory lobbies by hanging colorful lanterns and putting up seasonal ornaments. The Student Affairs Office provided mooncakes, fresh fruit, riddles, and small gifts to let residents to taste the holiday treats, solve riddles and soak up traditional Chinese culture.

This year, two sessions of the “Mooncake DIY Workshop” were held. Under the instructor’s guidance, residents made snow-skin mooncakes with their own hands, learning customs while strengthening friendships. The ever-popular “Paper-Lantern Craft Workshop” attracted a big crowd again; creativity ran high as each student produced a unique, exquisite lantern.

The Dormitory and Life Experience Team of Student Affair Office of Macau University of Science and Technology host the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival every year, to let the dormitory residents to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival and promote interaction among roommates and fostered sharing and communication skills. Participating students said that these activities not only allowed them to experience the rich festive atmosphere, but also added warmth and fun to dormitory life. They look forward to hold more similar traditional cultural activities in the future.
