With the support of the Student Affairs Office, the Model United Nations Club of Students’ Union of M.U.S.T. has successfully held the "2024 Macau University of Science and Technology Model United Nations Conference " from March 23 to 24, 2024. The conference was attended by 10 members of the presidium, 56 delegates, and 9 volunteers, a total of 75 people. In addition to members of M.U.S.T., delegates from the University of Macao, the City University of Macao, the South China Normal University, Pui Ching Middle School, Kao Yip Middle School, and Keang Peng School also participated in this event.
The conference set up two committees: the Chinese Committee for the Tenth Emergency Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly (Palestinian-Israeli Conflict) and the Chinese History Committee (Tianbao Fourteenth Year, Tang Dynasty Conference). Among the Standing Committee of the Chinese Committee, 38 delegates had a heated discussion on the current Palestinian-Israeli conflict and offered suggestions for world peace and the Middle East situation. In the Chinese History Committee, 18 delegates decided the future and destiny of the Tang Dynasty in the context of the An Lushan Rebellion.
In this meeting, the delegates demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and excellent expression skills. Through this event, members of the Model United Nations Club of the Students’ Union of M.U.S.T. had the opportunity to engage with outstanding delegates from other schools and gain a further understanding of international relations and related historical knowledge. In the future, the Model United Nations Club of Students’ Union of M.U.S.T. will continue to organize associated activities and strengthen communication with various schools, striving to provide a better participation experience for all delegates.
