News: M.U.S.T. held the Scholarship and Grant Awards Presentation Ceremony 25 institutions donated scholarships and grants to outstanding students

On November 24, 2023, Macau University of Science and Technology held the Scholarship and Grant Awards Presentation Ceremony in Block D, Conference hall. A total of 25 sponsorship organizations awarded 27 scholarships and grants to 331 outstanding students at the ceremony.

M.U.S.T. President Joseph Hun-wei LEE addressed the Ceremony

The President of M.U.S.T., Chair Professor Joseph Hun-wei LEE, expressed in his speech that the successful launch of the "Macao Science 1" satellite this year and mentioned the honor of receiving a gracious letter of encouragement from President Xi Jinping. School of Business of M.U.S.T. has earned the international accreditation of The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and been positioned among the top 6% of business schools globally. M.U.S.T. actively implements a new internationalization strategy, establishing partnerships with a number of prestigious universities to promote international academic exchanges and contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative. The university places great importance on innovative teaching models and recognizes that multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary education has become an inevitable trend in response to the needs of social development. Emphasizing the concept of comprehensive extracurricular learning, M.U.S.T. seeks to integrate student learning with practical experiences, encouraging students to participate in extracurricular competitions and academic activities, the university is committed to nurturing students' overall qualities and promoting their holistic development. Principal LEE encouraged students to cultivate good habits of critical thinking, embrace an open mindset towards interdisciplinary education, and embrace diversity, thus connecting with the world.

The representative of the scholarship winners addressed the Ceremony

Ng U Teng, delivered a speech on behalf of the scholarship winners. In her speech, she highlighted how the university provided a rich learning platform and internship opportunities during her past three years’ university life. The bilingual education offered by the university enhanced students' professional capabilities and international perspectives. The educational model facilitated students' connections with the Greater Bay Area and the international community, allowing them to apply their acquired knowledge to practical situations. She appreciated gratefully to the scholarship-providing institutions for their support and encouragement and shared her learning experiences. She emphasized the importance of having a positive learning attitude and encouraged fellow students to strive their best to contribute to society.

The Award Presentation Ceremony for Institutional Scholarships is installed to reward students who achieve excellent academic grades. Representatives of the scholarship-providing institutions give out prizes to scholarship winners as a token of recognition and affirmation, providing incentives for students to seek continuous progress in scholarship and in the meantime stimulate other students to strive harder for greater outcomes. Also conferred at the Ceremony were various awards of the University, including Outstanding Cultural and Academic Award, Outstanding Community Service Award, Outstanding Sports Award, and Student Handbook Cover Design Competition Award, in hope of motivating students to achieve all-round development on top of attainment of professional knowledge.

M.U.S.T. Art Troupe performed string and Chinese music, and the award ceremony came to a close amidst beautiful melodies.
