With the support of the Student Affairs Office, the Debate Club, Students’ Union of Macao University of Science and Technology successfully held the “2023 Macau University of Science and Technology Legend of Zhen Huan Theme Debate Competition” from November 19, 2023 in Room 211, Block N. A total of 24 contestants participated in this competition, including Zhao Ziyu, a senior student of Faculty of Law, and Wang Zhanran, vice president of Debate Club of SUMUST, who served as the judges of this competition. The debate attracted more than 150 students in the audience.
The competition includes three parties, namely the “Zhen Huan Camp”, “The Empress Camp” and the “Hua Fei Camp”. The contestants engaged in a heated discussion about the story of Zhen Huan and related social issues that arise from it. The contestants expounded their views from multiple aspects. The competition atmosphere was high and the audience were captivated through the competition. During the intermission, Hu Zijun and Liu Yuetong performed a wonderful song titled “Lady of Beauty”, which is the theme of Legend of Zhen Huan, to audience. After a fierce competition, the final winner was "The Empress Camp", the eight contestants including Chen Lanxuan, Cheng Leqian, Guo Jiachen, Ji Xiaoman, Liu Chang, Liu Yuetong, Tao Yingxuan and Wang Ruoyu. At the same time, Chen Lanxuan and Jiang Yue were named the two best debaters. The other 14 contestants were awarded the "Ten Grade Emenologist" certificate.
In this competition, each contestants showed their rich knowledge and demonstrated good expression skills. Through this activity, members of the Debate Club of SUMUST communicated with the outstanding contestants, and had a further understanding of the social issues derived from the Legend of Zhen Huan. In the future, the Debate Club of of M.U.S.T. will continue to organize related activities, striving to provide a better participation experience for all delegates.
