The Psychological Counseling Service of the Student Affairs Office of Macau University of Science and Technology held the "Growing a Garden in Your Heart: Seed Card Workshop" on March 10th and March 13th in Room O610 and Room R403 respectively. Through making seed cards, participants enjoyed the fun of gardening, and the created seed cards could be given as gifts to themselves or friends and family, allowing flowers to bloom in life.
The two sessions proceeded very smoothly. The workshop began with participants using leaves to form group and were invited to create self-portraits using leaves as a part of material for self-introductions. Then, using the concept of "the four seasons of life," participants were invited to draw their feelings about the four seasons on seed paper and share their experiences in life. The facilitator invited participants to connect the four seasons with important people in their lives, including themselves, and to try writing words of gratitude after the activity, giving the seed cards as gifts to these partners who enriched their lives. The final part of the activity involved making seed cards. Participants worked together to grind waste paper into a near-pulp state, then used molds to create cards of various shapes. Seeds of mint, sunflower, or chamomile were evenly sprinkled into each card, and finally, they were dyed. After the cards were completely dry, each unique seed card was completed. Participants expressed great joy in handcrafting the seed cards and looked forward to the seeds sprouting, flowering, and being harvested.
The Psychological Counseling Service regularly holds lectures, workshops, and activities on various themes. We look forward to your participation and hope to walk alongside you together again!
