Resident Students Celebrate the Lantern Festival Joyfully

In order to allow resident students to experience the traditional Chinese festival culture and enjoy the unique residential life, Dormitory and Life Experience Team of Student Affairs Office organized a lantern riddle-guessing activity on 12th February, 2025, which is the day of Lantern Festival. Resident students were able to appreciate lanterns, guess riddles, and taste glutinous rice balls together with their roommates and teachers. This year, the heart-shaped tree in front of the Block I Stadium was once again adorned with colorful lanterns, allowing teachers and students to take memorable photos and adding a warm and joyful atmosphere to the campus for the Lantern Festival.

Resident Students Appreciating Lanterns and Guessing Riddles

The lantern riddle-guessing activity has always been popular among resident students. This year's riddles included questions related to anti-fraud information, which attracted a large number of students to participate. Through the riddle-guessing activity, the students were able to deepen their understanding of fraud prevention and enhance their awareness. On that day, the residential students also cooked tangyuan together and shared them with each other, creating a very lively and harmonious atmosphere. The students who participated in the activity said that it was both fun and meaningful. It not only allowed them to experience the joy of the Lantern Festival but also strengthened their understanding of each other through interaction.

To enhance the festive atmosphere of the Lantern Festival on campus, the Student Affairs Office hung lantern decorations on the heart-shaped tree in front of the Block I Stadium before the festival. Many teachers and students were attracted and take photos along the way. Students from the Chinese Culture Society of Students’ Union, dressed in Han Chinese clothing, took photos under the heart-shaped tree, adding to the festive spirit. The Dormitory and Life Experience Team of the Student Affair Office will continue to organize similar activities in the future to promote unique residential life. This will allow our residential students to enjoy the pleasures of life in addition to their studies and enable them to experience the rich atmosphere of traditional Chinese festivals on campus.
