Members with gifts in hands, which were prepared for the seniors
Before setting off, staff of the Tele- Assistance center gave a short speech about some details that should be paid attention to during the visit. After that, members were divided into three groups and headed to Rua da Praia do Manduco to visit the seniors, who used the ‘Peng On Tung’. During the visit, members chatted with them, asking them about their health condition and current life and presented a gift to them. Moreover, members also guided the seniors to check if their personal emergency link service could operate normally.
Zhang Ziyan, who joined in this activity for the first time, said that “I am given chances to hear different stories when visiting each elder. Visits are randomly organized, which make them total surprises. Though we are who paying the visit, it is actually an interacting process. I do wish I can take part in more activities like this.” Other members who joined in this activity also showed that it was their pleasure to have a conversation with the seniors and learn about their life stories, which was very meaningful as well. They were willing to take part in it if whenever opportunity arises. Chen Siyan, who had once taken part in this activity, advocated that we should be more concerned about the seniors, especially who lived alone. She thought more company can be of more help to them.
