2023 President’s Medalist Award

Hi Everyone! My name is Zhang Yujia and I am a graduate of the Bachelor's degree program in Food and Nutritional Sciences, Class of 2023. It’s an incredible honor to receive the first President’s Gold Metal. This achievement is not only a recognition of my individual dedication but also a reflection of the guidance and encouragement from my teachers, advisors, and loved ones.

Our world is facing unprecedented challenges, from technological revolution to global health crisis. These challenges transcend borders and disciplines. But here at M.U.S.T. we get to explore a vast array of subjects in an enriching and supportive environment, and get to learn from the most accomplished professors who are at the forefront of their respective fields, from medical sciences, information technology, to law, economics, communication, and even art.

To my junior fellow students, "All things thrive together without harming each other, paths run parallel without conflicting." In the university, there are many different values and evaluation systems. They exist because it is a diverse and inclusive society.What we need to learn here is not only how to excel in every exam, but more importantly, how to coexist harmoniously with a world that you might not necessarily favor.

In the end, I wish M.U.S.T. and all of you: Harmony and excellence in profession, composing a glorious chapter together!

Gold Medal: GUI, ZIYAN, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Bachelor of Hotel Management

Hello everyone! I am Grace. It is an honour beyond words that I have been awarded the President‘s Gold Medal Award this year.

First of all, I really appreciate the support from all the professors in M.U.S.T. and FHTM. In the past four years, they encouraged us to pursue our dreams, try our best to break the boundaries in any way and step out of our comfort zones. I think all the freshman students are supposed to enjoy your campus life. Take the time and put in the effort to find the direction you are really in love with, and then dive yourself into it!

I believe, by finding methods to listen to one another with compassion, and making efforts to consistently remind one another of our shared humanity, we can all devote ourselves to improving our community and concentrating on attaining our common goals! Thank you.

Hello, everyone. I am He Xinyi, a graduate of the 2023 class from the Faculty of Innovation Engineering.It is my honor and pleasure to be awarded the President’s Silver Medal by M.U.S.T. this time.

During the past four years, I have so many wonderful memories at M.U.S.T., debugging the code with my classmates, organizing events as the president of the School of Computer Science and Engineering (S.C.S.E.) Student Union, getting graduate school offers from UC Berkeley, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon University (C.M.U.) and 11 other universities, and also enjoying marvelous performance given by art troupe on campus.

I wish each M.U.S.T. student would maintain the enthusiasm and pursuit of new knowledge and find your own rhythm in the liberal and vibrant M.U.S.T. campus life.

I wish the best for our alma mater, Macau University of Science and Technology, to forge ahead and make more progress!

Silver Medal: YU, YI, Faculty of Chinese Medicine, Bachelor of Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine

Hello, everyone! I am Yu Yi, a 2019 graduate majoring in pharmacy In Chinese Medicine from the Faculty of Chinese Medicine! It is an honor to receive the President’s Medalist Award.

Four years of university life is a journey full of surprises. I can still recall the happy moment when I received the admission letter of MUST like everyone else. Looking back on the past, my heart is full of happiness and gratitude. Do not stop the pace of progress, to keep starting, always moving towards our goals. No matter what kind of people we become, we will remember the training and teachings of our Alma mater.

I want to tell you, let us always maintain our love for knowledge, enthusiasm for life, and curiosity about the world. Let us always remain brave, humble and kind.

We will always be a part of MUST. This is our world, let us move towards a better future together!

Morning, everyone. My name is FANG JINGYUE, from School of Business. It is really a supreme honor and pleasure to be the President’s Medalist.

During the four years in M.U.S.T. I developed a global vision, practiced to be a critical thinker, and be concerned about the economics and society in the world. I highly appreciate the resources and professional engagement provided by the faculty and the university.

Also, I put great value on the characters of self-control, persistence and independence. So At the beginning of a brand-new semester, I hope all you guys can make plans early and invest time in your study. Remember to think big, start small, and act now.

I would like to thank Macau University of Science and Technology for giving me this honor. May we all have high aspirations, live up to expectations, and forge ahead.

Silver Medal: YANG, HAO, University International College, Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language Studies

Hello, everyone! I am Yang Hao from the University International College, and I am honored to be here today to share my acceptance speech.

At Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) not only did I learn the language knowledge, but the curriculum of the International College also allowed me to minor in different disciplines, which cultivated my independent learning, diversified thinking, and problem-solving skills.

During these four years in university, M.U.S.T. has allowed me to gain valuable experience in foreign exchange and social practice. These experiences have allowed me to grow into an outstanding student, as well as to understand teamwork and slowly go through the transition from university to workforce, laying the foundation for my future career development.

I could not have achieved what I have today without the support of the school and the guidance of my teachers. In the future, I will continue to work hard for the glory of my school and make my contribution to the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area at the same time.
