Yvonne, an alumna of Queens’ College, University of Cambridge, visited M.U.S.T. to share her experiences studying in the UK and the US. During her visit, she introduced the campus culture, historical buildings, beautiful learning and living environment, and rich extracurricular activities of Queens’ College. Yvonne shared her graduate study experience and inspired the students to consider their future career paths. She also explained the factors students should understand and consider before applying to graduate school and how to prepare for it. Yvonne encouraged students to develop their expertise and skills, accumulate internship experiences, and participate in various extracurricular activities, which would help with their application. During the sharing session, students actively asked questions, regarding the requirements listed on the school’s official application website and whether meeting them would increase their chances of receiving an offer. Yvonne advised that the information on the official website is for reference only and it is more important to demonstrate their unique characteristic and strengths. She encouraged the students not to think that top universities are unreachable and to pursue their dreams relentlessly. Even if their grades are not very high, it is fine if they excel in other areas. If they have a dream, they should try to fulfill it; otherwise, they will regret it in the future. She gave the students great recognition and encouragement. The sharing session concluded with warm applause, and the students benefited greatly, deepening their understanding of applying to graduate school.
Yvonne encouraged students to actively apply for the “Dr. Liu Chak Wan Scholarships” at Queens’ College of the University of Cambridge, which will close on April 30.
